Who is a mountain guide UIAGM | IFMGA | IVBV
The job of a mountain guide is not only about guiding clients safely in the mountains. Before the hike, he will advise the client and help him in choosing the right destination. Mountain guides have a basic education in geology, fauna, flora and know the mountains and their history. The mountain hike thus becomes a lifetime experience for the client. A mountain guide not only leads, but is also a coach providing advice and motivation. He helps ambitious clients to improve both technically and physically. A mountain guide often accompanies his or her client for many years around the world. This is the basis of a friendship that will last a lifetime. Safety is important in mountaineering. People seek relaxation and adventure in the mountains. In mountaineering, as in life, there is an objective risk that cannot be eliminated. Mountain guides are professionally trained to reduce this objective risk. Their quality education is primarily focused on the safety of their clients. Extensive experience in the mountains helps mountain guides to make the right decisions in difficult situations.
